The LED Sky Adventure

It was a sunny da y at Tokido Ramen at lunch when Steph, Edison, and Mike were all finishing up their food. Steph even complimented the food on how good it was. Sure, it was a small business, but it was way better than they expected. While they were finishing their ramen, Steph realized it was the perfect day to go to the waterpark. So, he said to his friends,“Wait, shouldn’t we go to the waterpark?”“Oh yeah!” Edison and Mike both exclaimed.“But which one?” Edison said.

They were tourists from Singapore, so they didn’t really know much. So, Steph thought for a minute and then went on Yelp and found a waterpark called Raging Waters.“Let’s go here!” Steph said.

So, they went back to their Airbnb, got their swimming essentials, and called an Uber to the place. Since they didn’t want to randomly spend money, they looked at which app and car was the cheapest. When the car got there, they went in like anyone else would do. When they got in, the driver greeted them.“Hello!” the driver said.“Hello!” they said back.“For Steph, right?” the driver asked.“Yes.” Steph answered.

It smelled like the air conditioning since the driver didn't put a car freshener. The seats were in good condition, and they were black, Mike’s favorite color. It was quite a long drive, but they didn’t care because they thought the place was going to be fun. When they reached Raging Waters, they thanked the driver for bringing them there.“Thank you!” they said.“You’re welcome,” the driver responded.

When they got there, they got checked in and went in.“Woah!” they all exclaimed.

There were lots of rides. It was big and had tons of pools and waterslides. The water slides were in colors of red, green, blue, black, white, and yellow. It smelled like chlorine, of course, because it was a waterpark. They also had a few places to eat: there were Pink's Hot Dogs, Ice Cream and Funnel Cakes, Dunkin Donuts, Sharkey’s, and Pepsi Corner.

So, they happily went to explore the Giant. When they got back together, they kept talking about the things they saw. After they finished, Steph wanted to go eat again because it was a long drive, and long drives always made him hungry. They decided to go to Pink’s Hot Dogs because they’ve never tried hot dogs before in their lives. After Steph got everyone to agree with him, they went to go eat. It smelled like beef because of the hot dogs they were cooking on the grill. They looked at the menu and saw that they also had fries, so they ordered three hot dog + french fries combo meals and ate over at the cabanas they rented. Like the last time they ate something, it was better than they expected.

After they finished, they threw their food away in the nearest trash can and went to find rides to go onto.

They found a ride called Bombs Away, and then they looked at the top and saw two red and blue capsules and figured out it was that kind of water slide they've never seen before. Despite the fact that they were scared, they went to go do it anyway.“How many steps longer?” Mike said.“I’ve never rode a water slide like this,” Edison said.“Don’t be scared, it's only five seconds. It'll be fun, I promise,” Steph said.

As they slowly marched up the stairs, Edison and Mike kept on chatting about how scary it would be. Finally, they reached the slides. Steph and Edison first went to the slides. When they got down, they both shouted,“MIKE, IT’S VERY FUN! IT’S NOT THAT SCARY!”

With the encouragement of his friends, he finally went down.“WHOOOO!!!” he said, coming down the slide.“See?” Steph said.“Was that really scary?” Edison said.“No,” Mike replied.

After that chaos was finished, they decided to go on another ride, Thunder Rapids. It was a white slide with no cover. You would go down by tube, with 2 people on each tube. So, they decided who would go single and who would go with another friend. The first match was between Steph vs. Edison.“Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!” they both exclaimed.“Yes!” Steph said, winning the first spot.

Now it was Edison vs. Mike. Whoever lost would have to go by themselves.“Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!” they shouted.“Yes sir!” Edison said, cheering that he had won.

Now Mike had to go by himself on the slide, but it was okay since it wasn’t that scary. While they were lining up for the ride, it started to rain heavily, and that was very odd because it was sunny a few minutes ago and now it was rainy. Suddenly, the intercom sounded off, making the rain sound scary. It sounded like:“Don’t worry people, we have built a solution for this. Stay calm, that is why we were closed.”“OH NO!” they all shouted.

According to the intercom, they had to wait under the cabanas until something bizarre happened. Of course, they didn’t want to get even more wet by rain, so they quickly rushed to the cabanas. Since they were fast, they were the first ones there, so they chose the best seats just in case. Not surprisingly, shortly after, they heard footsteps coming closer and closer.

They waited and waited and waited. It took so long that they were starting to feel furious and annoyed.“When are we going to play again?” Mike said.“Yeah,” Steph and Edison agreed.

Finally, the intercom sounded, saying,“We’re almost done here, just give us a few more seconds.”

Suddenly, they heard what sounded like a crane, but it wasn’t one. They looked above themselves and saw that a roof was starting to cover up the place. It was so cool!“Wow!” Steph said.“I was not expecting that!” Mike said.“Let's go!!!” Edison said.

After a few more minutes of waiting, the big roof was finally complete. It looked no different than how it looked before, but the roof was filled with different colors from the slides. It looked so calming to just look at LED colors instead of the light blue sky.

Though they were still kind of sad that when it stopped raining, this would be over. In the meantime, people were going back to what they had been doing before the accident—except them.

After about ten minutes of staring at the ceiling, Steph finally realized that they still had to ride Thunder Rapids.“Hey!” Steph said.“What!?” the other two boys replied.“Don’t we still have to ride Thunder Rapids?” Steph asked.“Oh yeah,” they said.

Too bad they had to line up at the back of the line, though. They still didn’t really care about it much because it was going fast. When they got to the front of the line, Steph and Edison went first while Mike went alone.“BYE!” they said, going down the slide.

When Mike got the signal from the lifeguard, he then went down too.“This is so calming,” Steph shouted.“Yes!” Mike shouted from the top.

As they all came down from the slide, the intercom went off again, this time saying:“We are closing. Enjoy your last rides. Also, sorry for the chaos this afternoon. Thank you.”

After they all got on to the flat ground again, they got cleaned up and took an Uber back to their Airbnb.

For the rest of the day, they just chilled, watching on their phones on the bed. They didn’t eat dinner because what happened that day already made them full.
